ARTICLE 013 THE WHEAT AND THE TARES

1. The wheat are the true children of the Kingdom, the truly consecrated, the heirs and have existed since Pentecost--Matt.13:24, 26,29,30. The tares were nominally but not really Christ's Church or prospective Bride. They are the class mentioned by our Lord (Luke 6:46) who called Him, Lord, but did not obey Him, Matt.13:26-30. C136:2; R5049:1-4, 9-11; R5737:c2,p1

2. The "Barn" is the "Glorified Condition." F200:2; R5049:4; R5539:c2,p2

3. The Scriptures clearly indicate that it was God's will that a great "test" should come upon all who had named the name of Christ and that all the great mass of tare-professions should fall away from all profession of faith in the "Ransom sacrifice" made once for all by our Lord Jesus; because they never received this truth in the love of it, 2Thess.2:10-12. D217:middle; F639:2

4. In the end of the Jewish age, the chaff was cut off from all Kingdom favors in which previously they trusted and boasted. Then trace the parallel and counterpart of this in the treatment of the "tares" in the Gospel age burning time. As the chaff ceased from all pretension to Divine favor as the triumphing Kingdom of God before the harvest closed in the great fire of religious and political contention, which consumed that system, so it was with the tare class of so-called Christendom. Fleshly Israel's rejection of the true sacrifice for sins, and their retention of the typical sacrifices which were no longer acceptable to God, but abominations, was an important incident in their national and ecclesiastical fall. So here, the rejection of the doctrine of the "Ransom" and the acceptance of either Masses, or good works or penances instead is Abomination in God's sight and was an important incident in connection with the fall of false Christendom, civil and ecclesiastical. The "tare' class was consumed; they ceased to be tares; they ceased to deceive either themselves or others; they ceased to apply to themselves the exceeding great and precious promises which belong only to the over- coming saints; and, when their various religious organizations rent by discords induced by the increasing light, were consumed in "the fire of God's Zeal," their great time of trouble of 1914-1918 (Zeph.3:8), they ceased to claim for their worldly systems the name "Christendom." C149:2; C148; D572:2

5. The wheat was all separated from the tares 1914, but the parable continues to this day as the wheat have not all been gathered into the barn (the glorified condition). F200:2

6. By 1918, neither the systems nor the "tares" in them could longer claim that they were either ruling and blessing the world or were in training to rule and bless the world. That constituted this burning as tares (imitation new creatures) without destroying them as human beings. Even though the systems continue, they are without a semblance of "The Truth."

7. In order for the tares to be fully burned, it was not necessary for them to cease to refer to themselves as Christians, but it was necessary for them to cease to speak of their systems as Kingdoms of God. C148; C149
