1. Since there was no justifying and spirit- begetting in Babylon after 1878; since we have been in a period of sifting, trying, and testing of the Wheat class that came out of Babylon, the replacements of those that fell away, their replacements, etc. since 1881; since the reaping of the true church from Babylon was finished, completed in 1914; since the 144,000 were all sealed in the forehead (with a knowledge of present truth) by 1914; since the great earthquake of Rev. 16 (world- wide revolution) began in 1917 and now has spread to all nations; and since the false Kingdoms of God (the nominal systems, Babylon, Christendom) were completely destroyed in 1918, the question might be asked, "Do we still have any work to do, and if so, what is it?
a. This is a good question; and one which is probably on the minds of all Bible Students.
b. Even though the "Reaping" phase of the harvest was over in 1914, we still have an important work to do mostly in ourselves; the making of our personal calling and election sure is the most important work we will ever do. We must let our light shine, giving a witness to the world by the way we live our Christian lives and also giving a verbal witness whenever we have opportunity. We must "Put on the whole armor of God that we might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, that we may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand", Ephes. 6:11,13. We must keep our bodies under, using them up daily in the service of the Lord, the truth and the brethren. We must develop all the fruits and graces of the Holy Spirit, thereby building a perfect character. "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith", Gal. 6:10. F068:1,2; R5098:2; R5168:1; SM581:2; SM635:2
c. In addition to the work in ourselves, the next most important work is for and with our brethren. We must continue to build one another up in the "Most Holy Faith," saying unto Zion (the Lord's loyal and faithful people), "Thy God Reigneth!" "The Kingdom of Christ is begun!" Jude20,21; SM127:bottom; SM582:3; R5098:3; C301:1; Isa.52:7; C237:2; R4679:3; SM241:2
