1. The League of Nations covenant had been made a part of the Treaty of Versailles. The U.S. Senate on Nov. 19, 1919 rejected the Treaty both with and without reservation. It was rejected with reservations Mar. 19, 1920.This was also an automatic rejection of the League of Nations. Secular History
2. Congress, by a joint resolution, on March4, 1921, terminated the formally subsisting state of war.
